St.Georges Market.

Upon my recent visit to St.Georges market, there were a few artists that particulary caught my eye. One of which was Mark Graham. This local artist studied visual communication at Belfast School of art and worked as a graphic designer for 15 years specialising in book cover design.

Self taught in painting he paints in a range of styles, though mainly in a manner best described as post impressionist. Working predominately in oil, he primarily uses a three colour palette, providing a slightly muted colour range which he feels is reflective of the real world. When conversing with him, he states that he wants the values and colours of his paintings to be the values and colours of life, without presentation or artifice, where ij context even ‘ugly’ colours are beautiful. unnamed-17
